ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Striker Chido Obi-Martin swapped Arsenal for United in a long, protracted move in October – as he hoped to continue his goalscoring heroics. And after getting on the scoresheet in the Red Devils' 3-0 win over Stoke City's Under-18s on Saturday, the 17-year-old took to Instagram to reflect on his personal milestone. The 6ft 2in forward now tops the list with 37 goals in just 23 games, according to transfermarkt.

WHAT CHIDO OBI-MARTIN SAID
Alongside several photos of the game and him topping the goalscoring charts, he wrote on Instagram: "Nice team win, happy to become the record goalscorer in the premier league u18’s history."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
That goal was his 10th of the season in the league and now he is one ahead of former U18 record holder and Coventry City striker Ellis Simms – who scored 36 goals in 38 matches for Everton. If he continues to star for United, he may not be too far away from getting a first-team call-up by new head coach Ruben Amorim.

WHAT NEXT?
This comes shortly after United's Obi-Martin signed his first professional contract this week. The teenager, who has been capped at youth level for England and more prominently Denmark, appears to have a bright future ahead of him.
